Simone Ashley steps away from the world of Bridgerton and couture for This Tempting Madness, a dark and unsettling psychological thriller arriving on UK digital platforms on 10 August 2026 courtesy of Plaion Pictures.
Inspired by a true story that had a profound impact on writer-director Jennifer E. Montgomery, the film follows Mia (Ashley), who suffers a near-fatal fall and awakens from a coma with serious brain damage and amnesia.
Desperate to return to the life she shared with her husband Jake (Austin Stowell) and their young daughter Aurora, Mia's world is shattered when she discovers that Jake has been arrested for her attempted murder. With the evidence seemingly pointing towards him, Mia is forced to question whether the man she loves could really have committed such a shocking crime.
As she struggles to reconstruct her fragmented memories, Mia finds herself caught between her protective family and the opposing influence of her brother (Suraj Sharma) and husband. Battling psychosis and a distorted reality, she must try to uncover what really happened on the night that changed everything.
With the truth seemingly beyond her grasp, Mia faces an increasingly terrifying question: can she trust the people around her when she cannot even trust her own memories?
Alongside Ashley and Stowell, the cast includes Suraj Sharma, Zenobia Shroff and Amol Shah. Ashley delivers a transformative lead performance in what promises to be a gripping mystery thriller that explores the fragility of memory and the terrifying consequences of losing faith in yourself.
