PREVIEW: Burner (2026 Film) - Starring Kacy Owens and Akina Wylie

Burner arrives as a new female led action thriller from writer and director Robert Orr, set to make its UK digital debut on 1 June courtesy of Seven Tales. It follows a familiar but combustible setup, where a second chance at life is quickly threatened by the weight of a violent past that refuses to stay buried.

At the centre of the story is Kiki, played by Kacy Owens, who is released from prison and regains custody of her teenage daughter Lola Ray, played by Akina Wylie. Kiki is determined to stay on the straight and narrow, trying to build something stable after her release, with motherhood giving her a clear focus and a reason to move forward.

That fragile stability does not last long. Her violent drug dealing ex husband, played by James Oliver Wheatley, reappears and drags her back towards the criminal world she has tried to leave behind. His return brings immediate danger and the kind of pressure that threatens not just her freedom, but her relationship with her daughter as well.

As the situation tightens, Kiki is forced into a position where avoidance is no longer an option. The story pushes her towards confronting her past directly, with the suggestion that the only way out might involve destroying the ties that once defined her life, even if that comes at a heavy cost.

Burner positions itself as a fast moving, tension driven thriller built around survival, loyalty and consequence. With its focus on a mother fighting to protect her daughter while facing down a criminal past that refuses to let go, it is shaping up as a release that leans heavily into personal stakes and escalating danger.

PREVIEW: Itch! (2026 Film) - Starring Bari Kang

Bari Kang steps into the horror spotlight with Itch!, a tense and unsettling debut that has already stirred attention following its UK premiere at Grimmfest. Set for a digital release on 20 April 2026 through Seven Tales, the film arrives with a strong sense of purpose and a premise that feels uncomfortably close to the bone.

Kang wears several hats here, writing, directing, producing, and taking on the central role of Jay. It is a bold move, but one that gives the film a clear, personal edge. Jay is not a typical horror lead. He is a widower, weighed down by grief, trying to hold himself together as the world around him begins to unravel. That emotional grounding becomes the backbone of the story, giving the chaos that follows something human to cling to.

The outbreak at the centre of Itch! is as brutal as it is immediate. A fast spreading infection known as The Itch drives its victims into violent, self destructive states, turning everyday people into unpredictable threats. Against this backdrop, Jay and his daughter, played by Kang's real life daughter Olivia Kang, search for safety in a city that is quickly losing any sense of order.

Their refuge comes in the form of a convenience store, a setting that feels ordinary at first glance but soon reveals itself to be anything but safe. What begins as shelter becomes something far more claustrophobic. The danger is not just outside. It seeps into the room, carried by fear, suspicion, and the fragile instincts of survival.

As tensions rise within the group trapped inside, the film leans into the psychological strain of confinement. Trust becomes a luxury no one can afford. Every glance, every decision carries weight. The infection is relentless, but the real question is how far people will go when pushed to the edge. It is here that Itch! finds its sharpest edge, exploring the uneasy space between protecting others and preserving oneself.

The relationship between Jay and his daughter adds a layer of emotional urgency that cuts through the horror. Their bond is tested at every turn, shaped by loss, fear, and the desperate need to endure. The film does not shy away from the cost of survival, building towards a climax that promises to leave a lasting impression.

PREVIEW: Daggers Inn (2026 Film) - Starring Anna Danvers

A quiet village. A buried crime. A woman who refuses to let the past stay hidden. Daggers Inn arrives on UK digital from 23 March, bringing with it a cold, calculated thriller from director James Smith, known for Best Geezer and Casting Kill. After making its way through the global festival circuit, this tightly wound whodunnit looks ready to draw audiences into its uneasy world of suspicion and buried truths.

The story follows Donna Revan, played by Anna Danvers, who arrives in the mediaeval village of Haxanbury under a cloud of mystery. Her presence does not go unnoticed for long, though the locals have no idea just how personal her visit really is. Two years earlier, her sister Sybil was found dead in the village lake, bound to a chair in a case that was ruled murder but never solved. Donna is not there to mourn. She is there to uncover what really happened.

As she begins to work her way into the lives of the townspeople, Donna starts exposing secrets that many would prefer remain hidden. Her attention soon turns to Toby Vass, a powerful financier played by James Hamer-Morton, whose confidence and status may not be as secure as they appear. Seeing an opportunity, Donna uses her own carefully honed methods to manipulate and destabilise him, pushing ever closer to the truth behind her sister's death.

There is more at play here than a straightforward investigation. The film weaves in a thread of the supernatural, adding an extra layer of unease to an already tense story. Daggers Inn promises an atmosphere thick with suspicion, where every character feels like a potential suspect and no one is beyond reach when it comes to the consequences of revenge.

Set for release on digital platforms from 23 March through Seven Tales, Daggers Inn invites viewers into a world where secrets linger, justice is personal, and the past refuses to stay buried.
