If there's something strange going on, you might not call Ghostbusters this time. You'd probably call Wallace Peebles. Or, well, maybe you shouldn't.
British writer-director Steven Nesbit, known for Gloves Off and A Very British Christmas, steps in front of the camera for the first time in this offbeat supernatural mockumentary. He plays Wallace Peebles, a delusional ghost hunter barely keeping his business (and sanity) afloat. The film, Wallace Peebles Paranormal Inspectre, is ready to spook up screens just in time for Halloween, landing on UK digital platforms on 13 October courtesy of Miracle Media.
The story follows Wallace and his shambolic team of paranormal "experts" as they head to a warehouse in New York, lured by the promise of quick cash and a few restless spirits to exorcise. It sounds simple enough until it isn't. Among the ectoplasm and chaos, there's also a double-cross brewing. Someone in the group is secretly plotting to steal a stash of long-lost Irish crown jewels rumoured to be hidden in the warehouse.
So between dodging ghosts, managing backstabbing teammates, and trying not to completely lose the plot, Wallace has his work cut out. What unfolds is part supernatural farce, part crime caper, and completely unhinged in the best way possible.
Wallace Peebles Paranormal Inspectre promises a mix of absurd humour, low-rent ghostbusting, and a touch of old-school British wit. It's weird, it's wild, and it's definitely not your usual haunted house story.
Catch it on digital from 13 October.
