The Man In The Hat - New Poster and Trailer - Starring Ciarán Hinds

Synopsis:
An astonishing feat of contemporary filmmaking, The Man in the Hat is a beautifully framed odyssey of music, story-telling and silent comedy traversing the breath-taking landscapes of France.

We follow The Man in the Hat (Ciarán Hinds, First Man, The Woman in Black) as he journeys through France in a Fiat 500, accompanied by a framed photograph of an unknown woman. He is pursued by five angry men in a Citroën Dyane. Why are they chasing him? And how can he shake them off?

Travelling North on his escape across the mountains, gorges and bridges of France, he hears stories of love and loss, Otis Redding and Canteloube, and encounters mysterious strangers including The Damp Man (Stephen Dillane, Game of Thrones, Darkest Hour), The Chef (Muna Otaru, TV’s Broken, The Keeping Room) and The Biker (Maïwenn, Polisse, Pardonnez-moi); coming face to face with the vivid eccentricities of an old country on an old continent, whilst trying to evade the pursuers who are always, relentlessly, on his tail.

A fresh and innovative near-silent movie experience, boasting stunning music and visuals, the film is written and directed by Oscar-winning composer Stephen Warbeck (Shakespeare in Love, Billy Elliott) and John-Paul Davidson (Brazil with Michael Palin, Stephen Fry in America). The Man in the Hat is the must-see, feel-good film of the year.

Mental Health Feature Film 'I Made This For You' will be Releasing for Free on September 10th to mark World Suicide Prevention Day

I Made This For You is a searingly honest British feature film that tackles mental health, depression and suicide head on. To highlight World Suicide Prevention Day on 10th September, the film will be available to watch for free for a month on Youtube until World Mental Health Day on October 10th.

I Made This For You follows a man, played by Gary Grant (Enemy Lines), who cuts himself off from his friends and family and has recently attempted suicide. He is pulled back from the edge by a documentary made about his life by a friend, played by director Cristian Solimeno (Guilt, Rush, Footballers Wives). His friends also include Alison Newman (Eastenders, Footballers Wives) , Dermot Murphy (Animals, The Drummer and The Keeper), Francis Magee (Star Wars: Rogue One, Game of Thrones) and West End star Siobhan Dillon (Cabaret, Grease, Sunset Boulevard, Miss Saigon).

The film within a film mixes reality with fiction in a unique and groundbreaking way. Despite the seriousness of the subject, what results is something funny, beautiful and deeply cathartic that provokes action and conversation.

Following the film, Director Cristian Solimeno also created the #imadethisforyou social campaign. The campaign invites people to take a moment out from their lives to try and make something for someone who is going through a hard time and share these acts of kindness for the week of World Suicide Prevention Day.

The aim is to create an explosion of love, kindness and creativity that empowers people to reach out and gives us the confidence to actually try. It can be a cake, a card, a jumper or a song.

The point is to make things with other people in mind and to give these things away to show you care. Random acts of kindness count and can make a real difference.

After getting kicked out of the Army for staking a fellow soldier with a blunt two by four, Hawk almost dies of boredom working as a night security guard at a deserted warehouse in his hometown of Santa Muerte, California… USA. Just when it looks like all Hawk's options in life have expired, filthy blood-sucking vampires appear and of course… Nobody freakin' believes him! With his back up against the wall, his sweaty Karate Kid headband tied on tight, real tight, and hordes of blood-thirsty vampires closing in, Hawk enlists the help of the one person who kind of believes him… Revson "REV" McCabe, a dimwitted, vegan-pacifist groundskeeper. Together they join forces to save the whole entire freakin' world. Well… At least their hometown anyway.

Says writer/director Ryan Barton Grimley,
“So why the heck did I make my film Hawk and Rev: Vampire Slayers? Honestly… The world is just so serious. It’s exhausting being tapped into media and technology 24 hours a day. It’s really intense how many issues are happening around the world. There are so many problems everywhere and I was looking for an escape… I was looking for a laugh and something heartfelt. I was looking for some much-needed levity and humor. I was looking for a break. Hawk and Rev: Vampire Slayers is quite simply a love-letter to my childhood and a more innocent and clueless time when everything seemed possible and like it would turn out okay. It’s a love letter to goofy weirdos with big dreams and ridiculous ideas. It’s just plain old fashioned escapism. Sure, there are themes and morals and critiques of the 80’s, specifically toxic masculinity and homophobia in there too, but at the end of the day, I really just hope you enjoy the ride and leave with a nice heartfelt feeling and the knowledge that maybe… just maybe… we’ll all be okay. “

Produced by Ryan Barton-Grimley, Ari Schneider, A.J Gordon and Jeremy Wanek, Music by Robby Elfman and Ari Schneider (Composer), and editing by Ryan Barton-Grimley and Jeremy Wanek.

HAWK AND REV : VAMPIRE SLAYERS will be the ‘midnight movie’ on the opening and closing night of the festival, playing August 28 and September 5.

Trailer and poster art revealed for Howard J Ford’s latest feature, THE LOCKDOWN HAUNTINGS

Howard J Ford’s latest feature film is THE LOCKDOWN HAUNTINGS, a supernatural serial killer movie. The award-winning director behind The Dead, The Dead 2 India, and Never Let Go, revealed that plans are underway to release the film, which was shot entirely in lockdown without a crew, exactly one year after the UK lockdown was called (March 16) which is the very same day the film’s story starts.

Synopsis:
With the streets now empty, it isn’t just nature that is taking advantage of this unprecedented global disaster. Spirits are freer than ever before and the spirit of a notorious serial killer, AKA ‘The Locksmith’, is back from the dead and he has even more potential victims. Can self-isolating detective George Parker (Angela Dixon) with the guidance of paranormal expert Jordan Myers (Tony Todd), prevent more young women from becoming victims of The Lockdown Hauntings?

The film also stars Heather Peace, Jon Campling, Justin Hayward and a host of other established and upcoming talent.

Howard said today:
“Having been sat in Lockdown for a couple of months and a project I should have been filming put on hold, I figured I could either sit around moaning about the lack of things going on or I could make something happen. I thought, what is out there right now; Fear, Isolation, Anxiety. Could I do something cinematic with that? Also, what is this 'Covid 19', I heard the virus is not even alive, yet it can kill us and be hidden anywhere. Then BOOM! It hit me, my killer needed to be the same. Not even alive, yet out there causing havoc and taking innocent lives. That's where the plot came from...I then posted on Facebook 'Actors, if I was doing a lockdown movie and I could film you as part of it in your own homes, would you do it?’ I was inundated! I was shooting less than a week later, writing as I went. Like a one-man tour round the UK to actor's houses and trying to do everything, sanitised and from 2 meters apart. Crazy I know, but fun! The cast were all brilliant and I’ve been super lucky to get the level of talent involved”.

Get Duked - New Trailer for Amazon Original Comedy

Dean, Duncan and DJ Beatroot are teenage pals from Glasgow who embark on the character-building camping trip — based on a real-life program — known as the Duke of Edinburgh Award, where foraging, teamwork and orienteering are the order of the day. Eager to cut loose and smoke weed in the Scottish Highlands, the trio finds themselves paired with straight-laced Ian, a fellow camper determined to play by the rules. After veering off-path into remote farmland that's worlds away from their urban comfort zone, the boys find themselves hunted down by a shadowy force hell-bent on extinguishing their futures.

From writer-director Ninian Doff — making his feature debut after a slew of award-winning music videos and short films for artists including Run the Jewels, Miike Snow, Migos, and Mykki Blanco — comes an anarchic satire of generational politics, hip-hop loving farmers and hallucinogenic rabbit droppings that pits the youth of tomorrow against the status quo of yesterday. Director: Ninian Doff

Cast: Samuel Bottomley, Rian Gordon, Lewis Gribben, Viraj Juneja, Kate Dickie, Kevin Guthrie, Jonathan Aris, Georgia Glen, Alice Lowe, Brian Pettifer, with James Cosmo and Eddie Izzard.
