Great Point is handling world sales, and will be introducing the project to buyers at the upcoming AFM. THE LAST TREE is a semi-autobiographical coming-of-age drama, which explores universal themes of identity and belonging.

Struggling with the unfamiliar culture and values of his new environment, teenage Femi has to figure out which path to adulthood he wants to take, and what it means to be a young black man in London.

Amoo is known for his interest in bringing diversity to the screen and exploring the theme of change. Interview with Charlie Samuels

Virgin Blacktop is filmmaker Charlie Samuel's visual diary – one that explores his youth, friendships and love of skateboarding. It is currently doing the festival route.

Why skateboarding and when did you discover it?

Because I immediately fell the first time I stepped on a skateboard - which got me hooked as I felt the pull of respect, then challenge. When the Wizards started skating in the 1970s we were considered social outcasts by the mainstream but to us we felt we had discovered this incredible device of self-expression, not unlike a guitar, that also had a tolerant social sub-culture. We were obsessed with skating — it was our first love. I slept with my first skateboard in 1976, the year of America's bicentennial.

And for those that haven't seen it, how would you describe the film?

VIRGIN BLACKTOP is an uplifting, funny and emotional 50-year time capsule of 9 lives about American unity amongst boys skating across boundaries to become men.

How long has the film been coming? Where did it all start?

Our crew had a reunion in 1994 so we built a skateboard ramp inside my apartment in Manhattan, New York City. The energy and camaraderie amongst us was so unusual and elated that I had to film it with my new Hi8mm video camera. I thought that, if the energy translated well I would cut it for one of my half-hour documentary TV shows on Manhattan Neighborhood Network. I then remembered that others had shot us on 8mm film back when the Wizards were competing in the 1970s so I was hoping that if I found any of it I could add that in too. Not only did I find all of it but the cinematographers, Gail Tipton, Carlos Cisneros, Rolf Taylor, Will Hammerstein and James Oursler were stylistically way ahead of their time - the footage was stellar! So I had to do it justice and bust it out of a half hour cable access show into a real movie. I think VIRGIN BLACKTOP communicates 99% of the feeling of what it is like to form your own community that lasts a lifetime.

Can you tell me about some of the folks you've interviewed for the film?

I mostly interviewed the other 8 Wizards for VIRGIN BLACKTOP - some over a half dozen times each over 20 years. They are all so incredibly different but they are gregarious characters who cemented their personalities because of the confidence and support we gave each other as we ushered ourselves through adolescence in the 1970s. You have to meet them!

Can you tell us where audiences can see it?

From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role.  The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be…a king.

The film also stars Amber Heard (“Justice League,” “Magic Mike XXL”) as Mera, a fierce warrior and Aquaman’s ally throughout his journey; Oscar nominee Willem Dafoe (“Platoon,” “Spider-Man 2”) as Vulko, council to the Atlantean throne; Patrick Wilson (“The Conjuring” films, “Watchmen”) as Orm/Ocean Master, the present King of Atlantis; Dolph Lundgren (“The Expendables” films) as Nereus, King of the Atlantean tribe Xebel; Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Netflix’s “The Get Down”) as the vengeful Black Manta; and Oscar winner Nicole Kidman (“The Hours,” “Lion”) as Arthur’s mom, Atlanna; as well as Ludi Lin (“Power Rangers”) as Captain Murk, Atlantean Commando; and Temuera Morrison (“Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones,” “Green Lantern”) as Arthur’s dad, Tom Curry.

AQUAMAN will release in UK cinemas on December 14.

Disobedience - Trailer and Poster

From Sebastián Lelio, writer-director of the Academy Award-winning A FANTASTIC WOMAN, DISOBEDIENCE is a timely and emotionally powerful tale set at the crossroads of tradition and modernity, of personal desires and the demands of faith.

When her estranged rabbi father suddenly passes away, Ronit (played by Oscar-winner and co-producer Rachel Weisz) returns from New York to the north London Orthodox Jewish community she rejected years previously after a scandalous transgression.

Ronit’s presence immediately courts further controversy when she unknowingly runs into Esti (Rachel McAdams), the wife of her strictly religious cousin Dovid (Alessandro Nivola) and the woman for whom she shared an illicit attraction in their childhood. This happy reunion soon reignites the two women’s burning, long-unrequited passions, an act of defiance that could alter the course of their lives forever.

Based on the novel of the same name by bestselling author Naomi Alderman and co-written by Rebecca Lenkiewicz, DISOBEDIENCE is a critically acclaimed romantic drama that explores the fraught boundaries between spiritual devotion and sexuality.

DISOBEDIENCE will be released in cinemas on 30 November
