Zombie Spring Breakers - Poster and Trailer

Marcia Do Vales, who, as Maria, kick-asses her way through Brit zomcom Ibiza Undead, will represent the film at its LA premiere on Thurs 2 Nov, which is hosted by US Film Studio & Distributor, The Asylum.

Now called ZOMBIE SPRING BREAKERS, Brazilian-born Marcia do Vales, who is about to shoot the leading role in supernatural thriller QUAIL HOLLOW, says: “I loved being part of this film, so am really pleased to have the opportunity to attend the US premier. With So few independent British films getting a theatrical release in the US it's a real testament to the hard work that we put in to make this film something truly fun for the zombie fans everywhere!"

THE TOP 5 MOVIES WITH THE BEST STUNTS

When it comes to movie stunts, actions speak louder than words. Sure, we love a nice bit of dialogue but it’s the big explosions and mega effects that really light up the screen. When done well, they have the power to catapult you into the centre of the action and leave you pondering a career change - or at least a car change - as the titles roll. And since no one sets up the action better than Michael Bay, we thought we’d celebrate the DVD and Blu-ray release of Transformers: Last Knight by having a think about the top movies stunts EVER…

Transformers franchise
It takes more than just a green screen to shoot incredible effects… Director Michael Bay is famous for pushing his cast to the limit when it comes to stunts - and it shows with the Transformers franchise. Though consistent with its eye-popping actions, The Last Knight is a visual master-piece.

Mission Impossible franchise
Tom Cruise debuted as Ethan Hunt in the first Mission: Impossible movie 21 years ago (we can’t believe it either) and he quickly cemented his reputation as the industry’s biggest daredevil. He even scaled the tallest building on the planet in Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol.

James Bond franchise
The death-defying stunts seen in James Bond tend to leave the audience more shaken than stirred… How is he still alive? Remember Daniel Craig`s death-defying crane jump in Casino Royale? The actor didn’t even use a body double. Let’s hope he at least got given a real martini afterwards.

Blues Brothers
Proving that cool stunts aren’t just a young person’s game, this 1980s movie used more than 40 stunt drivers and 60 old police cars, while the shopping mall car chase was filmed in an actual shopping mall. Production even got permission to drive down streets at speeds of over 100 miles per hour. In your face, CGI!

Fast and Furious franchise
If it were real life, the destruction in the Fast and Furious movies would cost more than $500m. It’s not surprising really - over the last two decades, the films have given us more high-speed stunts than you can shake a clutch stick at. Car driving onto yacht? You got it. Car driving over moving train? Of course! You get the idea. Incredible stuff.

Transformers: The Last Knight is out now on Digital DVD, Blu-ray™ and 4K Ultra HD™

Ghost Stories - Poster and 3 Teaser Clips

Based on Andy Nyman and Jeremy Dyson’s original Olivier nominated stage production, the same team have co-written and directed this adaptation for the big screen.

Starring Martin Freeman, Alex Lawther, Andy Nyman, Paul Whitehouse, and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith

Andy Nyman also leads the cast, reprising his role as Professor Goodman alongside Paul Whitehouse (Alice in Wonderland, ‘Harry & Paul’, ‘The Fast Show’), Alex Lawther (‘Black Mirror’, Old Boys, The Imitation Game) and Martin Freeman (The Hobbit franchise, ‘Fargo’, ‘Sherlock’).

Phillip Goodman, professor of psychology, arch-skeptic, the one-man ‘belief buster’ – has his rationality tested to the hilt when he receives a letter apparently from beyond the grave. His mentor Charles Cameron, the ‘original’ TV parapsychologist went missing fifteen years before, presumed dead and yet now he writes to Goodman saying that the pair must meet. Cameron, it seems, is still very much alive. And he needs Goodman to find a rational explanation for three stories that have shaken Cameron to his core. As Goodman investigates, he meets three haunted people, each with a tale more frightening, uncanny and inexplicable than the last.

GHOST STORIES in cinemas on Friday 13th April 2018.

The Best Voice Actors in Pop Culture

Imagine if millions of people knew your voice but hardly anyone recognised your face… What a strange and brilliant career it must be working as a voice actor. No wonder Hollywood’s biggest names want to jump on the voice bandwagon - it must be pretty great trading hours in hair and makeup for slouchy pants and slippers. However, a certain elite have made an art out of the voice industry, using their vocal coLabels
rds to create some of the most beloved characters from the screen. So, to celebrate the release of Batman vs. Two-Face, let’s raise a glass to these unseen heroes…

Adam West
Born in 1928, the late Adam West worked alongside some of Hollywood’s biggest names such as Paul Newman before becoming widely known for his lead role in the 1960s version of Batman, a part he reprised in the just released Batman vs. Two-Face movie. His distinct voice can be heard in countless animations ranging from The Simpsons, Futurama, Rugrats and Johnny Bravo - and he even played a fictionalised version of himself in Family Guy.

Frank Welker
Chances are you’ve heard Frank Welker’s distinctive tones before… The actor even received an Emmy Award in honour of his voice work last year. He’s probably best known for his role as Fred Jones from the Scooby-Doo franchise, which he’s voiced since 1969 to present, but he’s also portrayed Megatron in the Transformers franchise, as well as Nibbler in Futurama, Garfield, Dr Claw in Inspector Gadget and Kermit in Muppet Babies.

John Dimaggio
Known for his gruff voice, John Dimaggio’s CV reads like a kid’s dream playlist… You may have heard him portraying Bender in Futurama, Jake the Dog in Adventure Time, Rico in The Penguins of Madagascar, or multitasking various roles in Johnny Bravo, The Powerpuff Girls and Samurai Jack amongst other shows. Imagine how much fun he has going to work each day!

Mel Blanc
Born in 1908, the late Mel Blanc is one of the industry greats, having voiced… deep breath… Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Tweety Bird, Sylvester the Cat, PepĂ© Le Pew, Speedy Gonzales, Road Runner, the Tasmanian Devil, Woody Woodpecker, Barney Rubble in The Flintstones and Mr. Spacely in The Jetsons. Basically put, it would be hard to find a cult animation that he DOESN’T feature in.

Competition: Win Eat Locals Merchandise and Blurays

Eat Locals is out on DVD & Blu-ray October 30th and to celebrate we have a great competition for you and some great merchandise to give away including a Blu-ray of the film.

Synopsis:
In a quiet country farmhouse, Britain's vampires gather. They come together once every 50 years to discuss territories, disputes, threats and food stocks, and the approval of new members. On this night, a new face will be meeting them for the first time, and – if the vote is unanimous – could be the latest member to join their fanged ranks.

This new face, however – local lad Sebastian Crockett – merely thinks he's on a promise with sexy cougar Vanessa.

Unluckily for all, Sebastian's not the only guest who'll be dropping in tonight. A detachment of Special Forces vampire killers led by Colonel Bingham has tracked the coven to this remote location, although they've bitten off far more than they can chew: they expected one vampire, not an entire coven.
With barely a handful of men ill-equipped to take down such a bloodthirsty clan, Bingham must keep the vampires pinned down while the fractious coven must put their own differences aside if they're to escape before dawn.

For Sebastian, the soldiers and the coven, it may not only be the worst night of their lives. It may be their last.

Competition: Win Tommy's Honour on DVD

Tommy's Honour is out on DVD October 30th and to celebrate we have a great competition for you and 3 copies of the DVD to give away.

Synopsis:
Based on the powerfully moving true story of the challenging relationship between “Old” Tom and “Young” Tommy Morris, TOMMY’S HONOUR recounts the life of the dynamic father-son team who ushered in the modern game of golf. As their fame grew, Tom and Tommy, considered by many to be Scotland’s Golf royalty, were touched by drama and personal tragedy.

At first matching his father’s success, Tommy’s talent and fame grew to outshine his father’s accomplishments and respect as founder of the Open Championship in 1860 with a series of his own triumphs. But in contrast to Tommy’s public persona, his personal turmoil ultimately led him to rebel against both the aristocracy who gave him opportunity, and the parents who shunned his passionate relationship with his wife.

Directed by Jason Connery, and starring Peter Mullan (War Horse), Jack Lowden (’71), Ophelia Lovibond (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Sam Neill (Jurassic Park), this poignant drama serves as both a deeply affecting tribute to a true sporting pioneer, and a testament to the unique bond between father and son.

New Roddy Piper Film Production

A percentage of all sales go to Doernbecher Children's Hospital

On 31st July 2015 the world lost one of the most recognizable and successful wrestling personalities of all time, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper. A new film production is now available to stream from Nine Legends director David Sinnott which features never before seen footage of "The Hot Rod" titled: "Roddy Piper: In His Own Words". Dig deep inside a forty year career which was spotlighted in the WWE and WCW as well as the big screen, including the lead role in John Carpenter's cult classic, "They Live".

David Sinnott: "This project meant a lot to me to put together. I have fond memories of working with Piper on another project and it didn't sit well with me that so much great footage was locked away in a vault. I recall his daughter was present for the entirety of our film shoot and it was clearly evident that he was a decent family man. It was important for me to connect with Roddy's wife, Kitty Toombs, for input on this project."

Kitty Toombs: "This is Roddy, candid, serious and at times laughing at himself as he digs into some of the psychology and experiences that propelled him in and out of the wrestling arena."

A percentage of all sales will be donated to the Doernbecher Children's Hospital, a hospital which had a special place in Roddy's heart.

Kitty Toombs: "Roddy saw first hand during his decades in Portland, Oregon the groundbreaking, good work being done at the Doernbecher Children Hospital. Throughout the years he loved giving time volunteering as a celebrity during fundraisers but even more so, just stopping by to roam the halls and chat with the children. He shared with his family how those kids were the real heroes and what they gave him was far more than they ever realized."

Roddy Piper: In His Own Words is available to stream now at www.ninelegendsfilm.com for $7.99, which includes access to "Nine Legends", starring Bill Goldberg, Mike Tyson and Chris Jericho.

The Very Best of Josh Hartnett

Josh Hartnett is halfway up a mountain. He can barely see his hand in front of his face, so heavy is the snow battering him from all sides. He’s playing Eric LeMarque in his latest movie, the thrilling true story of survival against the odds that is 6 Below (in cinemas from October 13th) and whilst he knows he’s delivering a powerhouse performance he can’t help but think that maybe it’s about time he picked something a little easier next time. You see, however brilliant Hartnett is (and he always is), he doesn’t give himself the easiest of times on film sets, something this handy retrospective goes some way to proving...

Halloween H20 (1998)
Original scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis returns to the genre that defined her early career in this blistering return to force for the original slasher franchise. Having faked her own death, Laurie Strode is now the headmistress of a secluded private school, hitting the bottle and driving her rebellious son (an early heartthrob role for Hartnett) to despair with her over-protective schtick and an obsession with her dead brother, Michael. But when that brother is Michael Myers and, oh yeah, he’s not dead at all, her paranoia just might be justified. Hartnett provides a square jaw and, fittingly given his lineage, a propensity towards surviving but sadly he didn’t crop up in any further sequels (although Jamie Lee is back, back, back for the forthcoming reboot so there are reasons to be cheerful).

The Faculty (1998)
Having burst onto the scene in Halloween H20, Hartnett took a gig working alongside Robert Rodriguez (From Dusk Till Dawn, Planet Terror) on another modern horror classic in the form of The Faculty. As part of an ensemble cast that included Elijah Wood, Usher, Clea Duvall and Jordana Brewster, Hartnett starred as Zeke, one of a clutch if disparate high school students who notice that there’s something very wrong with their teachers (including genre stalwarts Piper Laurie (Carrie), Robert Patrick (Terminator 2: Judgment Day) and Famke Janssen (X-Men)). What they don’t initially realise, however, is that said teachers have been replaced by be-tentacled aliens hell-bent on taking over the rest of Smalltown, USA. Played for laughs as much as for thrills, The Faculty did brisk business in multiplexes, establishing Hartnett as heartthrob du jour.

The Virgin Suicides (1999)
Just by looking at the guy, Josh Hartnett clearly has all the attributes to play the movie heartthrob. But what better role to display those qualities than in the fierce and provocative feature debut of Sofia Coppola, a director who would later become a powerhouse in independent cinema. Josh plays dreamy eyed, six pack flaunting Trip Fontain, who has a short-lived romance with Kirsten Dunst’s character, Lux, who the film follows during her school year as she attempts to get over the suicide of her younger sister whilst simultaneously trying to escape the clutches of her strict parents. Following this smart and intriguing breakout performance there was no stopping Hartnett from becoming Hollywood’s next superstar!

Black Hawk Down (2001)
After breaking out onto the Hollywood scene, Hartnett was offered one of the most defining roles of his career so far, in Ridley Scott’s modern war epic Black Hawk Down. The film follows a team of soldiers dropped in to civil war-torn Mogadishu, Somalia, in an effort to kidnap two of local crime lord Mohamed Farah Aidid's top lieutenants. When two of the mission's Black Hawk helicopters are shot down by enemy forces, the Americans -- committed to recovering every man, dead or alive -- stay in the area too long and are quickly surrounded. Hartnett plays one of the many soldiers in the film that has to battle his way out of the centre of Mogadishu under heavy, heavy fire. He also gives a very moving speech at the film’s climax about heroism, leaving many a war-movie fan in the cinema teary-eyed.

Pearl Harbor (2001)
Michael Bay’s wartime epic and Box Office smash, Pearl Harbor, cemented what was a blistering year for Josh Hartnett. But perhaps more importantly, it provided a vehicle for the ultimate All American Male pairing of Hartnett and Ben Affleck, sending teenage girls across the globe running for the Blu-Tac to adorn their bedroom walls with posters of the pair. In the film, Hartnett plays Captain Danny Walker who, along with his childhood friend, Rafe McCawley (Ben Affleck) serve in the US Eagle Squadron which becomes drawn into the battle of Pearl Harbor; the trigger for the US joining WWII. Ahead of the battle, Rafe meets Nurse Evelyn (played by Kate Beckinsale) and the pair begins a tentative relationship before Rafe is drawn away into combat. Cue complicated – and emotional – love triangle... Whilst not received too well by critics the film was a hit, taking $450 million at the Box Office and proving that Hartnett was fast-becoming one of Hollywood’s most commercially bankable actors.

Lucky Number Slevin (2001)
With Hartnett now established as Leading Man Material, he had his pick of the roles. In this Guy-Richie-esque gangster flick, he plays a man who gets embroiled in a dangerous series of events after being mistaken for the very man he is visiting in The Big Apple. With his wallet stolen and unable to prove his identity, Slevin is forced to step up his desperate search for his friend and reclaim his identity before he's forced to pay a debt that could cost him his life. With Hartnett starring opposite some of the film scene’s biggest players (including Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman), he comfortably holds his own, proving he is a force to be reckoned with.

30 Days of Night (2007)
Another truly terrible day for Hartnett results in another great movie for his audience as he fends off a horde of really nasty vampires in the acclaimed, unremittingly bleak interpretation of the comic book of the same name. From the get go Hartnett’s good guy is up against it as the long northern night falls on the Alaskan town he protects as it’s sheriff. The snow might not be quite up to 6 Below proportions but the feral monsters he has to tackle more than make up for that, as does one of modern horror cinema’s most effective but downbeat endings...

Penny Dreadful (2014 – 2016)
A versatile man of many talents, Hartnett once again catches the eye in another unconventional piece, starring as Ethan Chandler, a troubled sharpshooter turned monster-hunter in TV series Penny Dreadful. Executive-produced by Sam Mendes (Spectre) and written by John Logan (Skyfall), Penny Dreadful is a dark and disturbing mash-up of many of Victorian literature’s most scary monsters, including Frankenstein’s Creature, Count Dracula and Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. It emerges that Ethan has a dark side as well; when there is a full moon, he metamorphoses into a werewolf. Making a formidable team alongside Eva Green in the role of temptress Vanessa Ives, Hartnett proves that he can play any role a casting director throws at him – man or beast!

6 Below (2017)
As you can see from the above examples, Josh Hartnett is no stranger to playing a man in great peril, and that is no different for this latest venture into getting himself into a bit of a pickle. In Scott Waugh’s 6 Below he plays real life subject Eric LeMarque; a thrill-seeking ex-Olympic hockey player and keen snowboarder with the weight of personal demons on his back. When he gets lost in a massive winter storm in the back country of the High Sierra Mountains, LeMarque is pushed to the limit and forced to battle those demons head-on as he fights against the worst the elements can throw at him. With Hartnett well and truly made to suffer for taking the risk of going off piste (quite literally and in the broader sense of his career), this epic survival thriller is sure to grip fans old and new when it opens in cinemas this Friday.

6 BELOW is in cinemas and on demand from October 13th, 2017

Ultimate Justice - Out now on DVD

Vision Films proudly presents Ultimate Justice, a film with non-stop action, kick-ass martial arts fighting sequences, and more explosions than a July 4th celebration. Directed by Martin Christopher Bode and written by Marco Theiss, Ultimate Justice is the ultimate in action entertainment.  Vision’s DVD label is distributed through Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Starring Mark Dacascos (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Hawaii Five-0, Iron Chef America),  Matthias Hues (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, Dark Angel), Mike Möller (Cloud Atlas), Brandon Rhea (Infernal Affairs 2, Push) the explosive and suspenseful Ultimate Justice is as much about vengeance as it is about teamwork and comradery.

A team of former elite soldiers are drawn back into action when the daughter of their former commander is kidnapped. Vowing vengeance on those responsible, they use all tools they have available—weaponry, martial arts, brute force and technology. The mission to track down the force behind the kidnapping causes the team to sacrifice their lives to uncover the truth, save the daughter and deliver justice.

Martial Arts enthusiast Ruediger W. Kuemmerle financed the project, which, although being based in China, he filmed in his hometown of Goeppingen, Germany with local crew.  It is Kuemmerle’s second feature film under his production banner Silent Partners.  His first film is the just recently released “One Million K(l)icks”.  Kuemmerle is currently in pre-production on the sequel, which will also star Mark Dacascos.

Ruediger W. Kuemmerle says, “Ultimate Justice would not have been possible without an incredible young, ambitious and truly talented crew and the support of Mark Dacascos, a true hero of the martial arts industry and a personal hero whose films I grew up watching. The same for Matthias Hues, a great actor and true friend. After a lengthy post-production process we could not be happier with the final result and we are extremely pleased to partner with Vision Films who supported significantly in the final stages.”

Managing Director / CEO of Vision Films Lise Romanoff says, “Ultimate Justice is solid entertainment, non-stop action with a compelling story. The motto of the Ultimate Justice team is Vivere Militare Est, translation is “To Live is to Fight!” Action fans across the world will love it”

MURDER ON THE CAPE is based on the true story of New York fashion writer Christa Worthington, who has an affair with a married fisherman while spending a winter holiday in Cape Cod. She returns two years later with his child looking to rekindle their love. When she is found murdered, a mystery unfolds within the tight-knit community, shedding doubt on the prime suspect’s guilt.

“The heart of the story is that there were all these personal struggles that you don’t see in a documentary about the crime”, director Arthur Egeli says. “You don’t get to see how everything affects each other”.

ADDicted Available on DVD/VOD on October 3

Vision Films proudly presents ADDicted, the ground-breaking feature film that explores the addictive nature and abuse of the ADD prescription drug, Adderall in the American college system. Written and directed by Dan Jenski and produced by Lightning in a Bottle Productions, ADDicted is a genuine, empathetic and dramatic wake up call.

Starring Kathleen Quinlan (Apollo 13, Event Horizon), Gil Bellows (The Shawshank Redemption, Criminal Minds), Luke Guldan (The Good Place, Law & Order), Lauren Sweetser (Winter’s Bone, NCIS: Los Angeles) and Taylor Black (Midnight, Texas, Lucifer), ADDicted brings to light the illicit and highly dangerous use of the prescription medication that two-third’s of college students have been offered at one time or another.

ADDicted will be available on October 3, 2017 on Digital for a SRP $4.99 - $9.99 Rent or Buy across all platforms and to Buy on DVD for $14.95.

Like most college kids, Drew’s life is chaotic. Demanding classes. Football. Finals. A bad break-up. An overbearing mother. But what helps keep him balanced is his Adderall, a prescription he's been on since age 10 for ADD. But now he finds himself suspended from the football team for plagiarism. As his life starts to spiral out of control, he turns to his professor, but is it too late? What will it take for Drew to find peace with himself instead of a pill bottle?

Writer/director Dan Jenski first envisioned his debut feature film when he was in college and saw first-hand the drug becoming more prevalent, as his friends would go to extreme measures to obtain it. After he discovered the dangers of Adderall, he wrote ADDicted to send a very important message.

“As you hear about people who have been affected and their stories, and you hear statistics about the people on it and the sales, you start to see that there is something going on here and feel really impassioned to speak about something deeper” says Jenski. “I just feel that a lot of people need help balancing themselves, being healthy and making the right decisions. Not being so stressed. Adderall is a very intense drug that people become addicted to because it allows them to sustain a level that wouldn’t normally be sustained.I just want to help people help themselves with this”.

Brian Cox Retrospective

Long held as one of our finest actors, Brian Cox (the weathered, gruff Scottish genius thesp as opposed to the leggy, grinning genius physicist, let’s get that out of the way first) is embedded in the minds of cinephiles everywhere thanks to a lengthy career littered with indelible performances. Not least of these is his turn as greatest Briton Winston Churchill in, well, Churchill, arriving on digital platforms, Blu-ray and DVD from October 16th, courtesy of Lionsgate Home Entertainment UK, but we’ve decided to delve a little deeper into Cox’s career to unearth some more of his finest hours:

Churchill (2017)
Jonathan Teplitzky’s beautifully shot drama examines the 96 hours leading up to the Normandy Landings during World War Two, focusing on Churchill’s internal struggles with his conscience as well as his increasing search for relevance in a government trying to sideline him. Placing such a short space of time under a microscope rather than going for the full biopic treatment gives Cox the chance to add nuance to a character so often portrayed as a ball of bombast and bluster. A career-best performance if ever there was one, Cox shines alongside a similarly peerless cast of supporting stars that includes Miranda Richardson, John Slattery and James Purefoy.

RED 2 (2013)
If Churchill sees Cox deliver a masterclass in studied nuance, RED 2 is him showing everyone how to throw a party. Starring brilliantly as a Russian spy, Cox is clearly having the time of his life in this geriatric action thriller that sees Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren and John Malkovich star as espionage old timers pulled back into the fray by an unhinged bomb maker (Anthony Hopkins, naturally). Whether he’s rescuing our heroes from a firing squad or kissing Mirren’s feet as she takes pot shots at the villains, Cox, replete with a velvet hat and a cheeky grin, is having a ball and it’s frankly infectious.

The Bourne Identity (2002)
Diverse as Cox is as a performer, he can do double-dealing bureaucrat better than almost anyone, something he demonstrated with aplomb across The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Supremacy. As the brilliantly American-sounding Ward Abbott, Cox was the puppetmaster behind the Treadstone programme and ultimately, in a sense, the creator of Jason Bourne: killing machine. Doesn’t stop him being as oily as they come, mind, or as cowardly, with Cox convincing at every turn.

X-Men 2 (2002)
It’s de rigueur for British thesps to take the lead as villains, a trend that pre-dates even the Bond films. Cox, however, took a slightly different direction when he debuted in the X-Men universe in the first sequel, starring as a US army general, William Stryker, singlehandedly responsible for the creation of walking razor blade Wolverine, as well as for nearly wiping out all mutants by harnessing his son’s telekinetic powers and Charles Xavier’s supercomputer. Obviously. Cox convinces amid all the heightened sci-fi drama to create one of the series most memorable villains and someone deftly able to match the on-screen might of the likes of Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen.

Manhunter (1986)
It’s easy to forget that before Hannibal Lector there was Hannibal Lektor – Thomas Harris’s psychotic cannibal originally being portrayed by Cox in Michael Mann’s brilliantly 80s take on the first novel in the Silence Of The Lambs series, Red Dragon. Although the role was bolstered in the later remake that brought the story into Anthony Hopkins’ pantheon, Manhunter sees Lektor pop up for little more than a nevertheless mesmerising cameo. Cox plays Lektor as a little more urbane, a little more accessible, but no less terrifying. Essential viewing.
