PREVIEW: Last Resort (2025 Film) - Starring Jon Foo

Last Resort

By Jon Donnis

Jon Foo takes the spotlight in Last Resort, a high-octane action thriller arriving on UK digital platforms on 16 June, courtesy of Miracle Media. Known for his roles in Tekken, Rush Hour and Batman Begins, Foo brings his martial arts and stunt background to the fore in this intense new feature from writer and director Jean-Marc Minéo.

The story follows Michael, a former special forces soldier, whose world is thrown into chaos when his wife and daughter are taken hostage during a violent bank robbery. Foo's character is thrown into action, determined to do whatever it takes to get them back. The gang behind the heist is led by Cooper, played by Clayton Norcross, and they've seized control of the high-rise bank with deadly intent.

As Michael fights to reach his family, he finds himself facing an unexpected figure from his past. What begins as a rescue mission soon reveals something far more dangerous, and the stakes quickly rise. It's not just his loved ones in danger. The situation threatens to spiral into a crisis with much wider consequences.

Minéo, known for Rebirth and God's Soldier, directs with a focus on full-throttle action and high-stakes tension. Julaluck Ismalone joins the cast as Michael's wife, reuniting with Minéo following her appearances in Rebirth and Mystic Blade.

Last Resort combines personal stakes with explosive confrontations, placing Foo in a lead role that puts his physical skill and screen presence to strong use. The film is set for digital release in the UK on 16 June.
