REVIEW: 7500 - Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Review By Jon Donnis
I was asked to review 7500 by Amazon Studios, and here are my thoughts.

7500 is one of those rare films whereby you go in with low expectation, but come out pleasantly surprised.
When you consider that the entire film is pretty much set inside the cockpit of a plane, with the exception of the opening credits, you would think that the film would struggle, since you are relying 100% on the acting ability of the cast. With Joseph Gordon-Levitt you have an experienced actor, and he does not let you down.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays Tobias, the Co-Pilot of a passenger plane, hijackers try to take over the plane, it is a classic story, that has been told a hundred times before, but never quite like this. Eventually hijackers manage to get into the cockpit kill the main pilot and injure Tobias. The film take place as previously mentioned in the cockpit, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays his part perfectly, you really get the feeling of desperation, claustrophobia, that tense feeling that as a viewer, you will almost find yourself shouting at the screen.

And at roughly 85 minutes, the film is short, but it never feels short, it feels just about right, it doesn't need to give you deep motivations of the hijackers, or some massive backstory of the Tobias character.

I also really enjoyed the way the film ended. I wont spoil it for you, but it just felt so different.

I really do recommend the film. 8/10
