WILDLIFE, the acclaimed directorial debut from Paul Dano, has been set for a 9 November 2018 release date in the UK and Ireland by distributor Kaleidoscope Entertainment.

Based on a novel of the same name by Richard Ford and adapted for the screen by Dano and Zoe Kazan, WILDLIFE stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Carey Mulligan as husband and wife Jerry and Jeanette, who face marital crisis in 1960’s small town Montana when Jerry loses his job and leaves Jeanette and their only son, Joe (Ed Oxenbould) to cope on their own.

When the separation ignites a spark between Jeanette and wealthy car salesman Warren Miller (Bill Camp), Joe must bear witness as his mother embarks upon a relationship that will change all of their lives.

The film premiered in Sundance before screening to critical acclaim as the opening night film of the Critics’ Week section of the 2018 Cannes Film Festival.

Fourteen-year-old Joe is the only child of Jeanette and Jerry—a housewife and a golf pro—in a small town in 1960s Montana. Nearby, an uncontrolled forest fire rages close to the Canadian border, and when Jerry loses his job—and his sense of purpose—he decides to join the cause of fighting the fire, leaving his wife and son to fend for themselves. Suddenly forced into the role of an adult, Joe witnesses his mother's struggle as she tries to keep her head above water.
